MSI to launch MEGA BOOK S270

Micro-Star International (MSI) has launched the MEGA BOOK S270, an ultra-slim notebook that weighs a mere 1.9kg. Featuring a 12.1-inch viewing screen, AMD Turion 64 processor, integrated Wi-Fi connection, integrated 4-in-1 card reader and DVD combo drive, the MEGA BOOK S270 is a fine and full-featured notebook. It is powered by a Lithium ion battery delivering up to 2 hours of life.



An excellent choice for a work assistant and partner for personal entertainment, the MEGA BOOK S270 is a full-featured notebook which has a complete range of connectivity ports, including an IEEE 1394 and USB 2.0 ports, which give users a multitude ways of transferring music, pictures and data to and from electronic devices.

  1. I don't think companies like MSI do the customer any favor by selling Notebooks with 256MB RAM and integrated shared memory graphics. The systems are expensive enough without some company trying to stiff you for upgrades because the laptop wasn't worth a pile dung to begin with. I mean spare me. Put windows XP Pro on that thing and that 192MB or 128MB of memory thats left is going to roll over and die.
  2. You can probably make it with 32-64 mb of video memory... leaving too little RAM, I agree. But you can't blame the manufacturer on trying to reach the lowest possible price to attract more customers, plus you can always upgrade when buying the laptop.
  3. RAM can usually be easily and cheaply upgraded. I bought a budget notebook and upgraded to 1GB RAM for only £100 from Crucial. I then upgraded HDD as well to a 100GB seagate model. Notebook plus upgrades was still cheaper than other models with lesser specs.
