Russian spammer murdered?

By Derek Sooman on July 26, 2005, 2:28 AM
A major Russian spammer named Vardan Kushnir has been found dead. The cause of death would appear to be repeated blows to the head.

Kushnir was in charge of the American language centre, a language centre that taught American English, with the emphasis on verbal skills. Around 2002-2003, the language centre was regarded to be the most prominent and the most famous spammer in Russia, regularly sending exorbitant amounts of spam to Russian Internet users. They managed to successfully defeat anti-spam filtering for a long time, and continued spamming due to loopholes in Russian law. Finally, a number of death threats were made. Looks like someone actually carried them out, eh?
