Technology marches on with the rallying cry of 'Smaller, Faster, Cheaper... Better', and Toshiba is marching right along with it
. The Toshiba Libretto U100 Notebook has been released. This isn't your ordinary notebook: It isn't really designed to be a notebook, but more of an “Ultra-Portable”. It is about half the size of a standard laptop, with a screen barely making it over 7 inches. It sports a 1.2Ghz Pentium M and despite the small size, can churn over 4 hours of life on a single charge. Impressive. This U100 truly defines a “portable computer”, as you have a fully functional laptop that doesn't even make that scale tip hit 2 pounds. Performance will likely lack, but if you are getting something this tiny, you aren't getting it for games. If this takes off, Toshiba plans to develop a successor.
