Toshiba Libretto U100: Smaller is Better

Technology marches on with the rallying cry of 'Smaller, Faster, Cheaper... Better', and Toshiba is marching right along with it. The Toshiba Libretto U100 Notebook has been released. This isn't your ordinary notebook: It isn't really designed to be a notebook, but more of an “Ultra-Portable”. It is about half the size of a standard laptop, with a screen barely making it over 7 inches. It sports a 1.2Ghz Pentium M and despite the small size, can churn over 4 hours of life on a single charge. Impressive. This U100 truly defines a “portable computer”, as you have a fully functional laptop that doesn't even make that scale tip hit 2 pounds. Performance will likely lack, but if you are getting something this tiny, you aren't getting it for games. If this takes off, Toshiba plans to develop a successor.
