HD-DVD likely to be delayed

In the latest in the saga of next generation DVD, it has emerged that Toshiba will likely delay the launch of its DVD product, HD-DVD, until after the peak Christmas period for consumer electronic sales. This is seemingly because of on-going discussions between Toshiba and Hollywood.

"We are discussing with Hollywood studios when would be the best time to launch [the HD-DVD players]," said a Toshiba representative.
