Google VPN In the Works
Last month there were news stories abounding with rumors of Google potentially moving into WiFi as a next business prospect. There was never an official (nor unofficial) statement from Google, merely speculation on the worth of Google and the state of the market. Though Google hasn't taken that bold step just yet, they are closer by offering Google WiFi VPN, a secure-access connection to Google's network that will give you a more highly secured Internet connection for wireless users. This isn't a hardware product, merely a beta (in the same way GMail is a beta) for a world-wide VPN. I wasn't able to download the installer, so it may be a limited-access thing at first, but likely it will be made available on a much larger scale soon. Definitely a premonition of things to come, Google is certainly finding more and more ways to bring mirth and merriment to the PC world – sort of.
