Musicians tell computer users how to beat system
To help combat illegal file sharing, record companies are selling more CDs that do not allow users to copy the CD. In an odd twist, it has been reported that bands are telling users how to beat the system. The Dave Matthews Band, Foo Fighters, and Switchfoot are telling users how to get around copy protection on CDs through their websites, and even Sony BMG, when the label gets complaints, are telling fans how they can beat the system.
