AMD CPUs sighted at Dell's store
Dell selling AMD CPUs? We're entering taboo territory mentioning AMD and Dell in the same sentence, for sure, though Dell has toyed (who exactly they are toying with is a mystery) with selling AMD machines for a long time. They always go full swing with Intel, though, and have denied rumors to the contrary in the past. It seems a bit strange, then, that Dell offers AMD processors for sale, retail, on their website. However, these are just CPUs – not computers. Whatever supply contract, if any, Dell has, with Intel, they still have the standalone Dell parts store. This is fairly new, and may be a sign of things to come. AMD has been trying to get Dell as a backer for some time, but giants have a hard time pushing giants.
