One of the first Viiv small form factor PCs will soon be on its way, thanks to Aopen, who are to show off one of the systems at the Consumer Electronics Show early in the New Year. According to Intel, Viiv machines boast the following features:

-Has cutting-edge technology, including a dual-core processor and advanced graphics and sound capability for an amazing audio/visual experience

-Offers access to content on demand with easy Internet access to movies, music, pictures and games

-Has the ability to record, pause, and rewind live TV programs (with optional TV tuner card)

-Comes in different shapes and sizes to fit any style home, including small consumer electronics-type designs that look like DVD players to more traditional desktop designs

-Provides state-of-the-art PC performance including support for up to 7.1 channel surround sound for a home theater-quality entertainment experience

Aopen’s miniPC apparently "resembles an Apple mini" but is based on Intel technology. ViiV machines will likely utilise both Intel's Pentium and Yonah processors. More on this exciting new technology when we know more!
