AMD gives desktop Athlons a price increase

Not all price changes can be for the better, and starting this week, AMD has changed the pricing on the majority of their desktop processors for the worse. The price increases aren't drastic, only ranging from $2 to $4 per CPU, but this causes the ever-popular dual core 3800+ to remain above the $300 mark, something that may be keeping many people from giving it a shot. You can look at the full price list at AMD's site. April isn't the most common buying season, so it will likely not impact AMD's sales to a large degree of, but hopefully by the time Q3 and Q4 roll around, the new fabs will help reduce pricing.

Cashing in while they still can? AM2's prices look exuberantly high as well.
