Plextor has launched its new PX-SP line, which are "shock-proof" portable 2.5" hard-drives. These are designed to include a silicone jacket that can absorb most of the shock from bumps and drops. Available in capacities of 80 and 120 GB, the drives rotate at 5400 rpm and measure 3.33" wide by 5.51" long. They weigh less than eight ounces, and are USB 2.0 compatible. They work with Windows and Macintosh systems. Shipping in May, prices will be $170 (80 GB) and $260 (120 GB).
