ICANN puts a stop to .XXX
Most furious today, though, will be the owner of ICM Registry Stuart Lawley who had spent years and millions of pounds pushing the .xxx domain. Only last month, when the .xxx issue was again delayed at ICANN's meeting in New Zealand, he told us he would continue to answer everyone's concerns. But his sense of injustice was clear: "ICANN have gone well outside their previous procedures for the other sTLDs on this one," he told us. "Given the political posturing I guess it is understandable, yet extremely frustrating. The contract was reviewed by the board during their 18 April call and by inference they must be happy with the terms as they did not ask for any amendments."

Religion has no place in politics. I mean, if they did the .xxx thing it would be so easy for parental control. Rather than block lots of individual sites, just block the .xxx ending. Unfrotunatly, nobody can see past the end of their nose these days... |

The same people that blocked the .xxx domain probably think that there isn't any pornography on the Internt & that this was an attempt to introduce that "filth" on the net. How dare they ? ;-) |

I really liked that idea. I think it would have made things more easy for everyone. |

Hey mentaljedi, The Christian Right is nothing but a bullsh*t political party. I don't consider them christians, it's a hoax used by a political group to get greater power by just calling themselves christians. Btw, there is nothing wrong with christianity but it's the use of it by humans in the political system is of what makes it look bad because most politicians are bad people who twist anything infront of them just to get higher power in a society. |

Although more thought could be put into this, I agree this could have potentially made easier to ban porn sites to children, and so on. |

mentaljedi: that's exactly what I was going to say, but you beat me to it.It would be interesting to hear what the Christian right had against this idea, and to see the lack of logical thought on their part. |
