Good old Samsung has something that I am sure will make all of you gamers and movie fans drool - a 70-inch LCD TV panel for the consumer TV market. As a 70-inch LCD HDTV, the device has the largest LCD TV screen size in diameter, beating the previous largest size of 65 inches. Capable of a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080, the LCD TV panel will no doubt become available in the business market soon before it reaches the consumer market. The device is capable of a conical viewing angle of 180° for multi-viewing audiences, and can produce video signals at 120Hz. Samsung will begin mass production of the TV panel during the first half of 2007. A price has yet to be made available.

Kim Sang-Soo, Samsung vice president, claims that the device sets a new benchmark of excellence in terms of video image reproduction, and claims that it has been designed to dramatically enhance the large screen LCD TV user's viewing experience.
