Plextor's PX-B900A to retail for $1000
Prices on BluRay burners don't seen to be dropping, much to the chagrin of would-be early adopters. With Plextor's latest drive hitting the market with a $1000 pricetag, it doesn't seem to be getting any better. With support for 25GB and 50GB discs and burn speeds up to 2x for BluRay and 8x for DVDs, it's got all the regular features you'd expect from these next-gen optical drives. Unfortunately, even the bundled software and new features are going to have a hard time making up for the price tag. If you have patience enough to wait, though, a year or so may be all we need to see them reach affordable prices.
