$100 laptop to see 10 million shipments in a year
The $100 laptop has lofty goals set for it, with Quanta wanting to ship a total of 10 Million units in only a year. The count begins in 1Q 2007, when shipments first begin, and the amount of shipments is expected to increase exponentially as time progresses. While 10 million may not be enough to fulfill the goals of the “One Laptop per Child” initiative, it's a start, and a big one at that. The rugged laptops are one of the first steps towards a larger goal of having everyone in the world able to participate in modern computing if they wish.
