RFID is relatively new and its current applications are largely a mystery to many. That aside, the industry is moving forward. Symbol Technologies, a company that specializes in mobility for large companies, has recently introduced a mobile RFID reader. Designed for warehouses or storage control, it can be integrated into various areas allowing it to act as an inventory-tracking system that doesn't rely on eyes and ears. A bit below a task as small as an RF tag in a shirt, it looks to be used with more mass-quantity, to help manufacturers and distribution centers keep track of their inventory levels.

They must be doing something right, especially since Motorola announced that they would be buying the smaller company. Obviously Motorola believes RFID will have a big impact on the market as well.
