AMD posts sales up and good profit for Q3

In contrast to Intel's dismal profit slump, competitor AMD has posted results for the past quarter and they look good for them. With increased processor sales, including lots of growth in the mobile and server class market, they are showing sales of $1.33 Billion for the quarter. With the merger of ATI approaching its close, they may have a chance to find something to contend with the Core 2. Will they be able to keep it up? Once the 4x4 systems start to hit the market, they may find a new place in enthusiasts hearts.
