Nintendo outsells Microsoft and Sony in January
How fares the console war? For Nintendo, it fares pretty good. For January of 2007, the Wii outsold both the Xbox 360, which had 294,000 units sold, and the PlayStation 3, which had 244,000 sold. It topped in at 436,000, which is no number to shy from. However, all three consoles experienced sales drops compared to December, which is quite predictable.
Interestingly enough, in December, the Xbox 360 more than doubled sales of the PS3 and came in a huge margin ahead of the Wii as well. Neither Microsoft or Nintendo are complaining. Nintendo is accrediting much of their successful sales to the Wii's “broad appeal”.
