Nvidia is ready to begin producing chips based on a 55nm process, intended to be an interim step between 65nm and 45nm to help lower costs in the short term. They'll be the first company to do such, most likely, and they expect to have volume production begun in the first few months of next year.

Whether or not they intend to move their desktop GPU line over to this process before a larger jump to 45nm isn't mentioned, but it would be a logical step to help reduce the high cost of these newer cards.
