BadBunny worm roams into the wild
A proof of concept, cross-platform OpenOffice worm that was made public a few weeks ago now seems to be worming its way through the wild. While initially thought to be relatively harmless and not spreading across the Internet, now the “badbunny” worm seems to be spreading on multiple platforms, including the Mac.
According to Symantec and other security companies, however, the various iterations of the virus are fairly harmless, posing as more of a nuisance than anything. However, its release does demonstrate that simply changing your platform does not make you immune to bad software. A false sense of security can be just as bad as having an unprotected machine.
