Sony yesterday announced a sleek all-in-one PC with LCD TV built-in, available in both standard and HD configurations, the Vaio LT PC/TV series features a 22-inch widescreen display and floating glass design.

The system is designed as an entertainment center, with support for CableCARD technology that will allow users to watch and record analog or digital cable TV programming, including premium HD channels without the need for a separate cable box or DVR. For high-definition goodness, the Vaio LT HD PC/TV sports a Blu-ray disc drive for movie playback, as well as the ability to record, store and play back personal content on high-capacity BD media. Further taking into the space-saving idea, the LT model can be mounted on the wall with an optional VESA-compatible mount and it also minimizes all of its wired connections by bundling a fold-up wireless keyboard, a wireless mouse and remote control.

The system is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and includes 2 gigs of RAM, discrete GPU, built in 802.11n, and a “roomy” hard drive. It also features Vista Ultimate preinstalled, 1.3-megapixel camera and echo-canceling microphone, as well as fast switching between PC and TV functions.

Available starting in October, the LT standard model will start at about $1,900, while the LT HD model with the BD-R optical drive will be priced at around $2,900.
