Asus reveals official Eee PC specs and pricing details
Asus has released the official configuration and pricing information for its upcoming and highly anticipated Eee PC. There are four configurations to choose from with prices going from $299 to $399, depending on RAM size, storage capacity and battery duration.
The top model is the Asus Eee PC 8G featuring 8GB of SSD storage and 1GB of RAM, followed by the 4G model with 4GB of SSD storage and 512MB of RAM – both with a 5200 mAh battery good for 3.5 hours of battery life and integrated webcam. On the lower end, both models are stuck with a 4400 mAh battery good for 2.8 hours. The Eee PC 4G Surf features 4GB of SSD storage and 512MB of RAM while the Eee PC 2G Surf features 2GB of SSD storage and a measly 256MB of RAM.
This ultra portable weights only 2.03lbs and is compatible with both Linux and Windows XP operating systems. As earlier reported, the Asus Eee PC is expected to ship within the next few weeks.
