Adding to the production delays and supply issues that have plagued the OLPC project, Nigerian-owned Lancor has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against the non-profit organization for allegedly stealing the company’s design for a multilingual keyboard.

The company claims that Negroponte took two multilingual keyboards from the company and reverse engineered the driver source codes so that they could work on XO notebooks, and made it open source for the entire world to see. Lancor is seeking “substantial damages” as well as a permanent injunction to prevent OLPC from continuing to manufacture, sell, distribute or offer for sale any product using the technology in question in Nigeria.
