The OLPC project is facing another setback in their continued campaign to bring laptops around the world. A U.S.-based company that was founded by people from Nigeria have sought an injunction against distributing the laptop in Nigeria and are suing OLPC.

Their complaint is the keyboard that the laptop uses and its multilingual ability, which they claim is a violation of IP they own. They claim that the OLPC project intentionally reverse-engineered their own software to accomplish what they did, and as such are demanding $20 million in compensation.

Even if the company has a legitimate complaint, I somehow doubt they will stop the project at this point. It seems in poor taste for them to attack a non-profit in this fashion, and I doubt they will get far.
