Yahoo acquires Maven Networks for $160 Million
You might think a company that is on the verge of being swallowed up by another would not be on the lookout for new acquisition prospects. And yet that's the story with Yahoo that just today finished the takeover of a smaller online video company called Maven Networks, adding onto the suite of services offered by the online giant. It's an interesting move form Yahoo particularly since they have in recent history the shut down of Yahoo Photos (though they own the more popular and hip Flickr) and given up on online auctions.
Regardless, the $160 million that Yahoo is forking over for the company is a paltry sum compared to the billions that Microsoft offered to lay down for them last week.
