Fans of the Safari browser will be happy to learn that Apple has updated the software, releasing version 3.1 today. The new iteration of the browser boasts speed boosts, faster rendering than competing browsers, newer HTML support and more. Of course, that's all coming from Apple – though I am sure that a lot of the Safari user base would agree. Claims of it being 4 to 5 times faster than Firefox and Opera are pretty bold. Interestingly, Apple's Safari page claims the tests were conducted with a beta version of Safari.

The browser is available at Apple's site for download.
