Earlier this year at the CeBIT show MSI first showed its take on the low-cost ultra-portable, albeit at that time very few detail were made available. Now, however, the company has revealed some more details about its upcoming ultra-portable, the MSI Wind notebook.


This two pound laptop will run only Microsoft’s Windows XP (for now) on an 8.9-inch or 10-inch wide LCD display with a 1024 x 600 resolution, with 1GB of RAM, a traditional 2.5-inch 80GB hard disk, 1.3-megapixel webcam and Bluetooth 2.0. The company also claims to have a superior keyboard than its competitors' and battery life good for seven hours of use – though we’ll believe that when we see it.

The notebook is expected to be available this June in Europe at between €299 and €699 ($471 - $1100). Though MSI has yet to confirm which processor will power the Wind, the June release window means it’s almost certainly going to be powered by Intel’s upcoming Atom processors.
