PlayStation 3 in-game XMB finally coming in June?
It seems like every time a new PlayStation 3 firmware update is on the horizon, somebody is predicting that it will have trophies (read Achievements) and the long-awaited in-game XMB feature, that would finally allow gamers to load the menu system without closing their game for accessing their friend list and more, you know… ala Xbox.
With firmware 2.40 reportedly scheduled for a June release, rumors are once again floating around and there’s apparently plenty of solid sources backing them as well. The speculation is made more convincing by the fact that Sony’s Ray Maguire basically said as much in March. That said, this is still only a rumor so we’ll have to wait a few weeks for an official confirmation, if any.
