Transform any PC into a Mac with EFiX's USB dongle?
Ever since Apple moved to Intel processors three years ago, we’ve seen numerous attempts to run OS X on generic PC hardware. Though many have been successful in doing so (there’s even Mac clone commercially available), getting Apple’s popular operating system to run on a PC can be a daunting task for the average computer user.
Luckily for those looking to transform their computers into full blown Apple machines, a company called EFiX plans to release a USB dongle that will supposedly let any PC boot and install OS X from a retail DVD, by automatically handling all the necessary patching and tweaks. Very few details are available at the moment other than it took six months of testing and that it should go live on June 23. I have to say I’m very skeptical about EFiX’s claims, but I’d gladly be proven wrong.
