MSI 8.9" Wind expected in October
MSI's Wind is due for a refresh, with the company supposedly preparing an even smaller version of the unit for release later this year. The Wind U90, an 8.9” unit, is expected to be available sometime in October, bringing MSI's offerings more in-line with other vendors. The U90 will be a good move by MSI, since most other vendors primarily offer netbook units smaller than 10”. They haven't sacrificed much to get the Wind into the smaller space, with the U90 having plenty of hardware under the hood.
The lower cost and smaller size of the U90 will be big selling points, and will certainly help MSI. The initial Wind release was hit with numerous delays, so this may be their chance to recover from that. An October release gives plenty of time for people to review and examine the unit before the year ends.
