Microsoft still interested in snatching up Yahoo

If you thought all the dust had settled from the Yahoo/Microsoft debacle, think again. After rejecting Microsoft numerous times earlier in the year, the companies split on somewhat bitter terms as it was clear Yahoo didn't want to sell for what Microsoft offered.

Since then, Yahoo's stock value has plummeted to around only 1/3 of what Microsoft was offering – clearly a bad sign for Yahoo. And yet, this has made Microsoft happy. Steve Ballmer, in fact, has commented they are still interested in acquiring the struggling search company, in whole or part. At this point, such a merger would probably leave Yahoo with the short end of the stick and it's unlikely the company would survive.

Will Microsoft make another offer for the company soon?
