Nvidia has launched its latest generation of professional GPU solutions, unveiling seven new Quadro graphics cards that range from a 4GB behemoth with 240 CUDA cores and a staggering price tag of $3,150 to a card that can handle two 30-inch displays for under $100 and consuming only 23 watts. The new line will be available shortly through system makers including Dell, HP, and Lenovo.
The new range is intended for CAD and industry applications rather than gaming. These include (from low to high-end) the Quadro NVS 295, Quadro FX 380, Quadro FX 580, Quadro FX 1800, Quadro FX 3800, Quadro FX 4800, and Quadro FX 5800. The top three cards in the lineup include support for the also new Nvidia SLI Multi-OS, which works in association with the Parallels Workstation Extreme virtualization software and Intel VT-d technology to allow both the host and guest virtual machine to each have their own dedicated GPU.
