"The Taiwan-based Photonics Industry & Technology Development Association (PIDA) predicts that global large-size TFT LCD supply will reach 95 million units this year, outstripping 85 million units of demand by 11%." (from here.)

If you have even done elementary economics, you will know that because of the price mechanism, this will cause prices to fall. This could mean a whole influx of cheap flat screen monitors to come soon.

Generally, this is the sort of pattern that one sees in some computer hardware. I remember when having a CD-RW drive made you like "God-like!", and they cost a fortune. Now everyone has them. Likely we will see that everyone has DVD Writers and flat sceen monitors in some time soon.
