Antec has earned a reputation for extraordinary case designs such as the Skeleton, Dark Fleet, Hundred and ISK series, but late last year they unveiled what's arguably their most unique and striking case yet, the LanBoy Air.
At first glance you can tell this is an enthusiast and gamer-oriented product. Antec touts the LanBoy Air for its highly customizable and modular design. Weighing 20.3 lbs (9.2 kg), the case can be outfitted with an insane fifteen 120mm fans – so you know the "Air" moniker belongs in its name. Perhaps more intriguing, nearly every part of the case is modular, even the motherboard and PSU mounts.
Moreover, the case's "AirMounts" HDD mounting system suspends drives in mid-air for superior vibration and noise resistance. Along with its two internal 2.5" SSD bays and a front-panel USB 3.0 port, the LanBoy Air could very well be the most flexible computer case we've ever seen.
Last year we already saw some pretty wild-looking computer cases such as the Lian Li PC-V2120, Cooler Master HAF X and the unforgettable Thermaltake Level 10, while 2011 has brought us the Thermaltake Armor A30 and Silverstone Raven 2 Evolution. In other words, choices abound if you are looking for a great chassis.
On that same notion, it comes as good news that the LanBoy Air starts at $150. At this price, the LanBoy Air is in direct competition with some of the above-mentioned products.
