Press Release: Taipei - Industry leaders Silicon Integrated Systems Corp., Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., ASUSTeK Computer Inc. and Rambus Inc. announce the cooperative development of the next-generation RDRAM-based chipset, the SiSR659, which is targeted at the performance computing and multimedia gaming markets.

The Inq has also posted some information on the announcement, the companies involved are claiming the R659 will give Chipzilla's DDR400 chips a run for its money, though that remains to be seen, it's Rambus, you know :D.

Now, going chipset crazy, HardOCP got some info on a dual Socket A board equipped with the "nForceFX chipset"... you heard that right, apparently NVIDIA has got that in the works without us knowing, heh.
