Light at the end of the IT Job Market Tunnel?

I am looking for a job right now. I am always looking for one. Don't get me wrong, there are things I love about my job, and plenty of people here I adore, but the fact of the matter is that there comes a time where you are just not getting stretched any more.... Or maybe, your patience IS, but your intellect ISN'T....

But all is not well in computer job land right now. Not by a long shot. In fact, in these dark times of even hardened computer geeks finding themselves unemployed, its more a case of being glad you have a job at all, never mind looking for another one.

But fear not! The booms and slumps that are so disgustingly associated with capitalism are back, and maybe this time they will shine their macroeconomic smile over the IT job market, and lead to some signs of life in Silicon Valley...

[quote] Nowadays, as the Valley struggles to recover from one of the deepest downturns in its history, the picture is reversed. While brilliant computer scientists line the unemployment rolls, the companies that once wooed them with stock options and sign-on bonuses are no longer clamoring for their services.
