Benchmarks: Quake Wars, Fallout 3

GeForce-based graphics cards tend to perform rather poorly in Enemy Territory Quake Wars with anti-aliasing enabled. Despite of this, the GeForce GTX 275 still managed 46fps at 2560x1600, and 70fps at 1920x1200. The Radeon HD 4890 was 46% faster at 2560x1600, delivering an incredible 67fps.

It is worth noting however that the Radeon HD 4890 is just 10% faster than the original Radeon HD 4870.

The Radeon HD 4890 fairs very well in our Fallout 3 test, which is conducted using FRAPS. The Radeon HD 4890 is 18% faster than the GeForce GTX 275 at 1680x1050, 17% faster at 1920x1200, and an incredible 55% faster at 2560x1600. The Radeon HD 4870 even does well at 2560x1600 with 8xAA/16xAF enabled, very impressive.
