Benchmarks: CrystalDiskMark 3.0

CrystalDiskMark displayed rather strong sequential read performance with 262.1MB/s, this is slightly slower than the Crucial RealSSD C300 256GB and comparable to drives such as the Kingston SNV425-S2 64GB. The write performance was remarkably strong reaching 257.2MB/s, this is simply off the charts beating the next fastest SSD by an 18% margin.

Next we have the CrystalDiskMark random 512K results and as you can see the read performance is average. Here we found the Samsung 470 256GB to be significantly slower than the Crucial RealSSD C300 256GB, while also lagging behind the OCZ Vertex 2 Pro 100GB and ADATA S596 Turbo 32GB SSDs. However, once again it is the write performance where the Samsung drive shines boasting an incredible throughput of 255.9MB/s, making it 15% faster than the next fastest SSD being the Crucial RealSSD C300 256GB.

Finally we have the random 4K-QD32 test results. The read results show the Samsung 470 drive to be considerably slower than the Crucial C300 256GB, though it matched the OCZ Vertex 2 Pro 100GB and Intel X25-V 40GB SSDs. The write performance was even weaker this time around, and a throughput of 75.5MB/s meant that the Samsung 470 Series 256GB was significantly slower than the Crucial C300.
