PNP Not Working

Windows XP

Plug and play does not recognize new devices or it recognizes them incorrectly. A wireless adapter card causes an entry under network controllers. When a printer is connected to the USB port, there is no beep sound and the printer isn't listed on the device manager. Any ideas? Thanks.

You can try and right click on either the printers or USB connection tab and click on "scan for changes"

Thanks. There is no printer tab. Nothing shows up when I scan the USB tab.

I have XP. I've decided to have a computer "Paramedic" come to assist me. Thanks.
