I have a presario 700 it shuts down after a couple of minutes. I tried just booting to BIOS and same thing happens. It's probably a heat issue but is there anyone with a suggestion to remedy the situation?

Does your fan kick on at all?

What do the temperatures look like in the BIOS for the minute or two that you're in there?

If you feel it might be a result of overheating, perhaps you just need to do a little dusting :D. Try carefully opening the case up and dusting the inside with a can of compressed air.

Fan works but it is mostly on high. The BIOS stinks doesn't have much to choose from and temp is not an option. I am going to try the dusting hopefully that will be a quick fix. thanks for the response.

No problem, hopefully it's that simple! Good luck and post back with your results :).
