RedHat 9 Questions (hda1 doesnt show, setting up internet)

Hi all

I'm a huge newbie to RedHat 9, and I've just succesfully installed it. I'm very keen to learn about it, so any help would be greatly appreciated! Here are a number of questions I have:

1. How can I access my Windows partition in Linux?
In the Disk Managment, the only partitions or drives that show are my two CD drives, my zip drive, and my floppy. Where's my Windows partition?

2. How do I get my Wireless Network to function in Linux?
I have a NetGear wireless USB adaptor for the computer with Linux on it. The computer which runs the gateway (or router, if you will) has Windows on it. BUT, my adaptor doesn't show in the list under Linux's Network Config. WHAT NOW! :eek:

I have Windows on an NTFS partition, and Linux along side.

1. The kernel that RedHat ships does not support NTFS (they are scared of Microsoft I think). You have to recompile the kernel or buy a third party NTFS driver for Linux. Or install some other distro like SuSE..

2. You have to install drivers for your wireless adapter. Check NetGear site, they have Linux drivers for some products.

If I ever need to reformat, I'll put XP on a FAT32 partition.

Darn, I'm not finding these drivers anywhere.......

Netgear doesn't supply drivers for this device it seems. You have to go for generic ones.

NTFS read only is built into the Linux kernel. You just have to enable it.

I suppose the only way out is by putting XP on a FAT32 partition next time.
