all kinds of techniques, depending upon the volume (number) and or content.

If you have a router, you may be able to block URLs that contain specific keywords
(eg porno term :( ) which would block man urls with each keyword

if you have just a few sites and want to kill access to all content from them, add
127.0.0.1 www.domain.name to your hosts file (ask and I can provide details)

if you need to bock a specific url from a site and allow all others, you can add it to
your Block list in the browser.

If you're concerned for the kids, then google for NetNanny

more details please .......

I have a belkin wireless router, and numerous computers connected to it. All i want to do is to block a few urls. But for example if it was like google i'd want google images, web, and the others blocked, so i suppose it will be by keyword. Thanks

I have the Netgear router and it operates like this (http://www.homenethelp.com/web/review/netgear-RP114.asp)

your Belkin supports a service based filtering (http://www.belkin.com/presspage/Releases/05_29_03parentalCntl.html)
Belkin Parental Control, powered by Cerberian, is included with the Belkin 54g Wireless Router (and soon will be in all Belkin Routers). While web-content programs are available by separate purchase from other manufacturers, the Belkin program is built into the Router and will work with any number of networked PCs, requiring no additional licensing fees. Service for the Parental Control is free for the first six months, and, after that, $19.99 per year.

Dlink uses a full URL (http://support.dlink.com/emulators/dir635/Advanced_Web_Filter.html)
