Need to convert a lot of photos

I have a lot of photos in .NEF format, i need them in JPEG so i can email the, and use them on certain programmes. Is there any software out there, where i can convert a lot (500+) of photos from .NEF to JPEG. One catch, it needs to be free software! Thanks.

Irfanview can do batch conversions, but I've never heard of .nef files, I'm not sure if it can open them. If it can, it will convert.

.NEF is Nikon cameras. Infran does not support this, any more ideas people?

IrfanView supports NEF files with a plugin. Please install the plugins package.
