So my gf's father "fixed" the computer taking a paltry 2 months :/ anyways I understand hes busy anyways ill get to my question.

Isnt it when you install that your supposed to have sound not this no sound device found recently? I dont know maybe he used a wrong retail disk which is possible since he has his own business hes a architect but i have the original my question is arent the sound drivers supposed to come installed when you reformat?

ive already fixed the problem i just wanted to know if it is supposed to come with it....it would be alot less of a hassle.

sound drivers do come with os but there are so many hardware manufacturers so the correct driver may not be there with the os and you will have to get the drivers from internet or cd that comes with the pc
eg
win98 has 10 sound drivers
winxp has 100 sound drivers
vista has 1000 sound drivers
