Hi

I have a user that receives generated reports in a pdf format via email.
now this user can open up previously emailed generated reports that are in pdf format with out a problem.
today he received about 4 emails with new reports in pdf format
now when he tries to open these new files he gets a access denied error.
he cant open save move or delete this new files.
I had him forward me the email with the attached pdf to see if I would get this error but I can open them without a problem
so i don't think the files are corrupt

These reports are vital and need to be processed asap
Im wondering how to fix this

Thanks for the help

He can't do a right click> Save to desktop and open from there with either the Adobe reader or FoxIt?

It's possible the program could be corrupt. Throw Adobe out, install FoxIt and try opening with that:

They might have take ownership (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308421).

If that doesn't work, have them create a new Administrator account in Windows and attempt to open the files from there.

Ok I did download the Foxit program ran it and the user is unable to open the pdf files (Access Denied)

So what I did is i had the user forward me the email with the pdf files attached through outlook.
I then moved the attached pdf file to his user folder on the server and he is able to open it.

So now i'm thinking that it might be some type of problem in the users Outlook

If so what do you recommend my next step to be?
reinstall outlook?

...Did you have them try taking ownership of the files?

All of the users here have Admin rights to the pc.
and yes i did try to have him take ownership but it doesnt give me that option in outlook on the attached pdf.

I did find some complaints from users who were trying to access the PDF documents offline and getting this message. Make sure the person is online when accessing the PDF files. Click on File and make sure 'work offline' isn't checked.
