My laptop kinda blew up and won't turn on

I put a sanDisk 2gb m2 in my SD port in my laptop by mistake and it got stuck. As stupid as I am, I try to take it out with 2 metallic knives. As soon as I put in the second knife, the laptop turned off and i smelt smoke in the SD port. It won't turn on, I've taken out the battery and the Power supply and awaiting on what I should do.

I've got a Dell Vostro 1400 laptop.
Any help will be appriciated

Hi! With the power supply and battery unplugged, remove the sd. Then try again to turn on the pc. Probably, you won't be able to use that port again... If the pc won't definitively turn on, you should try to clear CMOS if possible, or remove the card reader.
But if you are unlucky, the mobo could be burnt. I hope it isn't so...

oh, big trouble. But does it power up or not, after unplugging and removing the sd?

Try to turn it on without the battery, with only the power supply.
If it doesn't, wait 15 minutes with the battery off and the supply unplugged and then try again.
If it doesn't power up, i've finished my ideas, sorry...
