hello i have recently upgraded my ram on my dfi lanparty 790fx dark mobo it has an amd 9550 phenom quad core processor 2.2ghz the ram i just put in it is dominator 1066 dual channel 2 gig sticks and after doing the computer now reads processor as 1.6ghz and me nor my room mate can figure out what the problem is so if anyone can please help

Did you chk the multiplier in bios?

accually i just did that and it was set way low i wasnt sure if that was a fix or just a tempuary solution

if you change it through the bios, its permanent, until you flash your bios.

yeah i think that solved the problem i think my room mate flashed the bios and forgot to change the multiplier back to what it needed to be thanks though now if only i could get my brand new hard drive to work properly lol

if its sata there are sometimes an area to enable your sata ports for recognition through the bios. GL

bios registers the hard drive device manager sees the drive but still no drive >.>

you may want to chk on the software site for the make of the HD to see if there's a software that you can run a disk check on. I know I found one for my older maxtor drive.

thanks problems solved i can now go about beating the world record for overclocking my system now lol
