Problems with gOS persistent install on usb

i followed the instructions exactly on the pendrive linux site...http://www.pendrivelinux.com/2008/05/27 ... m-live-cd/, except that i used a newer version of the .iso file (i used gOS 3.0 gadgets)
however, when i select the option to start gOS with persistence it hangs after "Loading...Please Wait", although it did manage to boot up in safe graphics mode
it also takes a very long time to boot up no matter which option i choose.
is this a problem with the read/write speed of the flash drive i'm using or a problem with the installation?
