hi all
in trying to setup ms word to open with the same letter heading every time i open it.
i did a search for normal.dot but got no results.
could someone tell me if this is possible and if so how?

The easiest tthing to do would be just to make a shortcut to your template and use that to open Word. No need to go messing with Office internals.

If you insist on editing Normal.dot then depending on the Office version it is either under your user profile in "Documents and Settings" Application Data\Microsoft\Templates or under Office install directory.

thanks nodsu thats sorted that out for me.. the Application Data\Microsoft\Templates were hidden files for some reason but got there in the end. cheers mate
