Ubuntu WINE game problems

for some reason, wine for ubuntu is not running my windows disk-based games
with older games, it installs, but is unwilling to link programs, making it impossible to play
with newer games, the install shield wizard doesnt run

wine is not suited to gaming, you will better served by using "crossover" or "cedaga" that is their strength.
