I'm looking for a sound driver for the Sony vaio, PCG-Z1XGP. The sound was working fine, until I replaced the hard drive.
I was told the 'VGN-Z1' is the same as the 'PCG-Z1' so I tried downloading that sudio/sound driver. it did not work. It said "THIS UPGRADE IS NOT INTENDED FOR USE WITH YOUR COMPUTER MODEL"
Could I please have some help with getting my sound working again..
Thanks!

Tbh, I'm not too smart with this kind of thing. So detailed instructions or whatever would be nice.

Apparently there are alot of problems with people finding the correct driver for this computer on the internet. If you did not get a driver CD with the laptop then I suggest that you call Sony themselves.

By doing a quick search another user 'slyman' cant find the driver and has joined many forums with no luck. He also encountered the same error with the PCG-ZI driver for he VGN-Z1.

I would call Sony or do a system reinstall. If you have the original CD that with your computer the drivers may be on there or in a separate partition on your computer.
